Leadership

The leadership of IBMGlobal is governed through its Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is comprised of Bible-believing pastors, missionaries and laymen who have a burden for missions and who are in full agreement with the outlined policies and procedures of IBMGlobal. Board members are committed to the Mission’s growth in godliness, professionalism, effectiveness and opportunities of development for IBMGlobal.

President

Jamie Smith

In 2020, Jamie Smith became IBMGlobal’s second president after first serving for 8 years as a pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in Parkersburg, WV and then as a missionary in Zambia, Africa for an additional 8 years.

During the Smith’s three terms of service in Zambia they were directly involved with establishing four local churches and those churches have continued to mature and send out more church planters that have resulted in 9 second generation churches so far.  During this time, Jamie also had the privilege of developing the missions program at Central Africa Baptist University that has produced more than 40 graduates with a minor in missions who now serve in a variety of roles across the continent of Africa.

Jamie & Mandy’s greatest joy is to serve in this ministry alongside their children (Lorelei, Jorja, Warrick, and Chola) and see all that God is doing in and through them as they surrender daily to the Lord’s Word and will. When they left Zambia in 2020 they did not cease being missionaries, nor did they leave the mission field.  Rather, they stepped into a role that expanded their ministry to a to a truly global capacity that allows them to serve in 17 nations and counting by facilitating the ministry of current IBMGlobal missionaries, mobilizing new missionaries, and equipping churches to serve as senders.

VP of Missionary Services

Phillip Peterson

After 18 years in missions, I still desire to be serving on the front lines! But there is a great need to see the next generation prepared and trained to carry out The Mission. It is my passion to equip these future missionaries - both in the classroom and life-on-life - to effectively make disciples of all nations.

VP of Finance and Administration

Chris Brown

Chris & Jeanie began serving as missionaries in June 2000. Although new to IBMGlobal, they are not new to ministry. They married in 1988, began serving in their local church, and later founded an independent children’s ministry that eventually led them into full-time ministry. Realizing their desire to reach more people for Christ, they began serving with Word of Life Fellowship as Area Missionaries; they served in that capacity for nearly 17 years. After serving faithfully and seeing hundreds come to Christ, they began sensing the Lord leading them to take on a different role – one that would enable them to serve others on the front lines and allow them to fine-tune other skills the Lord had given them. They have one adult son, Nathan, who is an avid outdoorsman. They have lived in Northern Indiana for the past 35 years, and for the immediate future, their family will still reside there. Chris will work remotely from his home office but will come to the office in NH as needed for strategic planning meetings, projects, and training of the finance team.

After nearly 35 years of ministry, the Lord began preparing them for yet another change; with much prayer and counsel, they clearly watched God pave the way to IBMGlobal. They are looking forward to seeing how God will use them to not only support the IBMG team and their families but also serve, strengthen, and equip the many missionaries around the globe. The
Browns are multi-talented with skills in financial management, donor relations, organizational fundraising, organizational leadership, and mentoring. They embody the values of IBMGlobal and keep the ministry focus at the heart of all policy and procedure. They are both passionate teachers with a heart for children and youth.

As the Vice President of Finance and Administration, Chris oversees all business matters for IBMGlobal. Legally speaking, he holds the office of "Treasurer." In the business world his role would be Chief Financial Officer. He ensures that our financial policies and procedures meet all IRS qualifications yet remain simple and user-friendly for our staff. He will be leading the finance team and also provide training to our missionary staff. In addition to these aspects of ministry, Chris will assist in organizational fundraising and the overall business plan component which is essential to every effective ministry.

Jeanie has served as one of the administrative assistants to Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth at Revive Our Hearts Ministries for over five years. In addition to continuing to serve in that capacity for the time being, Jeanie already serves in a variety of administrative and training capacities for IBMG which will become more defined in time.

Like all of our leadership team, the Browns are support-based which enables IBMG to keep our administrative fees low. They are asking the Lord to provide more ministry partners who will join their prayer and financial support teams.

Director of Operations

Denise Cedras

Denise Cedras serves as the IBMGlobal Director of Operations & Finance.

When she first came to IBMGlobal in 2016, she worked in donor services which gave her the foundational understanding of both the financial processes and team dynamics needed when she became Director of Operations & Finance in 2018.  She serves on the administrative team, oversees donor & missionary services of the finance department, handles all logistics pertaining to human resources, and oversees the daily operations of IBMGlobal.

Having lived most of her life in southern NH, and after receiving her degree in nursing, she participated in short-term medical mission trips. This ignited her desire to serve the Lord in missions, whether on the field or by supporting those on the field.

She came to IBMGlobal after managing the finances in a family business, home-educating her children, leading a home school support group, serving as the NH representative for speech & debate tournaments, and serving as a coordinator of hospitality.  She has seven children and eight grandchildren.

Director of Missionary Member Care

Stephen Poindexter

Stephen and Veronica Poindexter along with their four children have had the opportunity to serve as cross-cultural missionaries for 10+ years on several different continents.  God has enabled them to serve in Liberia as well as in Ukraine.  They have a burden for disciple-making, the establishing of healthy indigenous churches, and church multiplication among the nations.  The Lord has now called the Poindexter family to be even more involved in global missions as Stephen serves as the Director of Member Care for their mission board, IBM Global.  Along with serving in several administrative roles with the mission, Stephen’s heart is to care for those who are sent by serving as a resource for sending churches and missionaries.  He is responsible for helping each missionary who serves with IBM Global to cultivate an atmosphere of sustainable, fruitful, vitality in both life and ministry for God’s glory.

Striving to cultivate sustainable fruitful vitality in the life of each cross-cultural worker and their sending churches in order to be obedient to the Great Commandment and effective in the Great Commission.

Philip Hunt

Africa Field Advisor

Phil is a church planter in Zambia, Central Africa. In 1993, working in a team ministry, he and his colleagues started Faith Baptist Church of Riverside in the city of Kitwe. The church has been involved in a number of other church plants in the Kitwe area. Phil and Lori were also involved with the founding of Faith Children’s Village Orphanage.

Phil accepted Christ as his Savior shortly before his fifth birthday. As a teenager he surrendered his life to God to serve as a missionary. He attended Oklahoma Baptist College and at the same time pursued a private pilot’s license. In 1989 he married his wife Lori and they moved to Africa in March of 1992.

Phil’s vision is to see the gospel go to every village, town, and city in Africa. His passion is to train the next generation of God-called African leaders who will catch the same vision and will advance a truly indigenous church planting movement across the continent. For this reason he has dedicated his life to the establishment of Central Africa Baptist College and Seminary in Kitwe, Zambia.

Phil and Lori have been serving as missionaries in Africa since 1992. They are the parents of seven children: Cherith, Austin, Collin, Ashlyn, Carman, Tamaryn, and Corban.
